Not everyone needs a plumber but when the job gets large enough people call their local plumber to help them out around the house with plumbing problems. Plumbers have a lot of different tools and skills that they can use to help solve various problems with plumbing in the home, at school or at work. Plumbers are skilled in installing systems for drinking water, sewage, drainage or industrial process plant piping. A master plumber is a plumber that has mastered the entire craft of the industry including commercial, institutional, residential, multi-family dwellings, underground municipal and high volume areas. A plumber can perform various tasks for his or her customers.
Installing and Repairing Fixtures
A plumber can make it extremely easy to install and repair plumbing fixtures domestically or at the workplace. So, if someone decides to purchase a new faucet for their bathroom but don’t trust themselves to install it, they can call a plumber, who will effectively install the new faucet and make sure it is properly hooked up to the flow of water.
A plumber can also examine a water heater and whether or not it is heating the water too much or too little and how that is affecting the water bill of the customer.
Cutting Piping for Installation
Plumbers are also highly trained and skilled at cutting piping for installation at a house or at a business. Plumbers have the expertise and eye to cut piping, thread piping and bend piping to the proper size for the installation that will be performed.
Pipe Testing
Plumbers are also highly skilled in the art of testing pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. These tests will be able to determine where the leaks are in the piping and how much is leaking out of the pipes when the water is running. The plumber will then know how much replacement piping is needed to fix the leak and how long the job will take.
Legal Awareness
A plumber will be licensed and have all the proper permits needed to perform contracting work on a person’s house or business. They will also know all of the rules and regulations and be up to speed on all of the plumbing codes. They will also understand all of the safety issues that involve being a plumber and how to turn the water off, especially the hot water, before working on a customer’s house.
Reading Blueprints
Plumbers have been specially trained to read blueprints of piping in an already built house so they know where to operate and blueprints of a house being built so they know where to lay the piping in the walls and floors. These blueprints determine the layout of the pipes, where the water supply is going to and from, where the waste will be traveling to throughout the building and where the venting systems are being placed.
Plumbers are specially trained in their field and the need for excellent plumbers is high because of the health and safety regulations involved with the job. Plumbers help with providing clean drinking water and safe sewage removal.
